A beautiful 19th century miniature devotional engraving depicting the Resurrection of Christ. Christ is shown rising triumphantly from the tomb, surrounded by radiant light and flanked by two kneeling angels, one bearing a censer, while he raises his hand in blessing and holds a long cross-staff. The extraordinarily fine linework is surrounded by a circular Latin devotional inscription invoking eternal glory, honor, peace, and joy in the Lord.

The engraving is set beneath glass within an ornate circular gilt frame decorated with delicate relief ornament and crowned by an elaborate ribbon and bow crest. Intimate in scale yet incredibly detailed, this jewel-like devotional piece would be beautiful displayed amongst religious antiques, miniature artworks, or incorporated into a gallery wall.
