Pair of French Alabaster Tazzas
A beautiful pair of late 19th century French tazzas carved from richly veined alabaster, each featuring a shallow circular bowl surrounded by an elaborate border of sculpted grape clusters and trailing foliage. The bowls are raised upon elegant pedestal bases with carved foliate detailing, allowing the natural cream, amber, and smoky grey veining of the stone to become part of the design.
Wonderfully sculptural and romantic, these tazzas make exceptional decorative objects for a mantel, console, or dining table. As antique pieces, they show notable age and wear throughout, including areas of discoloration, chipping and losses to the carved decoration, cracking, and evidence of historic repairs.
****These imperfections are visible throughout and are part of their beautifully timeworn character; please review all photographs closely for condition.
