French Gilt Bronze Floral & Cranberry Glass Vase
A beautiful late 19th century French vase combining vibrant cranberry-red glass with an elaborate gilt bronze botanical surround. The glass vessel is nestled amongst sculptural flowering branches, with dimensional blossoms, curling stems, leaves, and a suspended cluster of grapes creating the appearance of a miniature flowering vine growing around the vase.
Raised upon an ornate gilt bronze pedestal with finely chased foliate decoration and a scalloped base, the piece is wonderfully sculptural from every angle. The vivid cranberry glass against the warm aged gilt creates an especially rich contrast, making this a charming vessel for a petite floral arrangement or a beautiful decorative object on its own.
